It’s only January 15th, and yet Home Lives have found themselves playing their third show for 2016. If that isn’t consistency, I really don’t know what is.
The show is in correlation to a very special independent music store – Darkside Records. Formed by a bunch of mates with a passion for music and a belief in the physical format, the store will blow out the candles to its fifth birthday, whilst simultaneously celebrating its newfound home set up in in Poughkeepsie, New York. Doubling as a gallery space, Darkside Records are utilising the space to condition their new residency, lending the sonic help of our very own blood, Home Lives; who will be playing the stores “Grand Re-Opening” this Saturday night. Joining Home Lives will also see performances from Sound Of A Smirk, Dead Empires, Kyle & The Pity Party, Mike Hamel, and Cold Hands. What a show!
Not only will there be performances from these talented musicians, bear in mind that the store offers a sales floor of new & pre-loved vinyl, a hi-fi / stereo room, and the aforementioned live music element. On top of all this, the party on Saturday will also offer a sale on in-store items and giveaways in the form of a raffle; with all proceeds going directly to local non-profit charity, Sparrow’s Nest.
Darkside Records’ Grand Re-Opening slash fifth birthday will take place on Saturday, 16th January at its store, now located at 611 Dutchess Turnpike, Poughkeepsie NY. More info can be found on their Facey page.
