Syncs + Digital Sales
We’ve been working hard at getting our bands heard. That can and often does create an income. Nice. And although it seems today’s posts are all about money, business is about money because without it we don’t exist. Recent highlights include a massive surge on the digital front. We’re talking sales every single day for the first time in our history which is fantastic. Our digital setting have always been EVERYTHING THAT PAYS. It’s time to reconsider Circle’s status and possible opt out of lower paying digital options. We’re huge fans of Mana Music here and they too have touched base again regarding a possible Bondi Rescue Sync. Lovely. Further highlights include an email from Pitchfork about the Circle covers which they like but held off on posting. Hard not to grit your teeth but at least there’s a dialogue.

Even The Boss isn’s Safe!
Circle’s September Gurls cover was loved by one and all when it dropped two weeks ago. Positive feedback and video watches are proof people are digging the new music. It’s still getting hits every day and we hope that trend doesn’t stop. We loved it of course! It seems however that less people knew the Big Star cover and so this little beauty is getting certain folks titties in a twist. We love that even more! Go titties…*

New Music
Just a note here to mention that there’s going to be a heap of new music coming very soon from Circle. Last recording sessions went well and over dubs and mixing begins this week. MR is looking for film folk to help with our gorilla viral video campaigns. Contact the label if you’re keen (as mustard)… Also Anna will be assisting on the publicity from which is great and work will be tracked, mixed and mastered at Enmore Audio.

Circle Shoot – Circle Chart
Circle have been quieter than usual for a few weeks but we feel it’s a case of calm-before-the-storm for the guys. There’s talk of covers, new clips, an Australian album release (finally!), more Happy shows, collaborations and more. Molasses Sandwiches which is yet to officially drop in Australia is still charting in the top 20 on US college radio. Nice.
Enmore Audio
Now while this announcement should most definitely be coming from camp Enmore Audio, we can’t help but mention it on the MR blog that the recording studio is now up and running. The site is well worth checking out. Michael Bradfield took the great photos and DPM did all the web stuff and brand development. We think there’s still a logo in the works. While we have a heap of plans for 2011, the first few weeks are going to be a consolidation of sorts. Let’s reflect a little on the year that has past. Was it a success? How can we improve? Resources are limited so what’s most important? All that sort of stuff combined with some mild detox should hopefully yield some interesting results. What we know for sure is that Circle are working on some covers and some new youtube music for video to go along side the covers. Should be interesting.

US College Radio
We may have mentioned Circle having won a US comp recently which saw their Molasses album pressed and serviced to US College Radio. Reports are coming through hard and fast and the results are great. Nearly 75% of radio picked it up and the album is charting in top ten positions all over the place.
Atlas B Salvesen
Atlas B Salvesen gave us an awesome performance on Sunday which included a great Mountain Goats cover. He was our residant solo guitarist and we couldn’t have asked for a better one. Please check out his new song Stage Lights at Angel Place which we recorded on the night:
