Monday is meant to be our blog roll day. It’s when we (me) go through our blogs, update everything and make sure everything is fresh and up to date. It takes more than a day actually and is slowly consuming our (my) entire life. But… some noteworthy tidbits: the poster for Happy! has been slightly re-designed. Some re-titling, we’re getting more adventurous with colour AND we added an extra butterfly. Nice. Also, Sunday last was a great night though sadly a little quieter than we would have liked. Atlas B Salvesen is a star and well worth checking out. We’ll get him in again for sure. Looking forward to next week and seeing Serge and his cabaret outfit On the Stoop. Whoop! Whoop! Thanks to DPM for the new blog design they did for us.

Peaks and troughs are of little consequence as we charge forward into our third week of Happy gigs. One of the highlights for us last Sunday was Yukio by Big Smoky. Don’t let the half speed bees fool you. They’re only there to cover up some shady camera work. And just like a peatie, well aged Dalwhinnie Highland single malt, Smoky deliver and hit the spot. Enjoy.

Doing the research for the Happy shows wasn’t easy but it was a heap of fun. One of the first bands we came across that really got our attention were Jenny Broke the Window. Crisp, tight, edgy pop. We couldn’t fault a single track on their myspace page (and we’re certainly not here to review bands), but we can gladly report that they did not disappoint on stage. Look forward to having them join us again in November. Circle’s cover Elliott Smith‘s Baby Britain has been getting some great feedback.

With all these gigs coming up it got us thinking about all the crap that venues and bookers do wrong. Not so that we could sit here bagging them out (as easy as that is to do…) but so that we could offer things that no one’s been able to do properly for bands. In light of that, we’ve just added a worksheet and poster widget at the bottom of the site. Here as a band or performer you can download your worksheet and share your poster on social networks. We’re still ironing out the kinks but it’s good enough to launch.
